[Frank] "I saw her sitting at the picnic table by herself.
She was rubbing her chest, and she looked worried.
I asked if something was wrong ... and she said her shoulder hurt.
It was weird ... because usually, she's the life of the party, you know?
My sis never sits on the sidelines. I told her maybe we should get her to a doctor."
[Joan] "Well ... I was really tired, and I felt bad that morning.
But I had to keep going. I figured I was just stressed out from the reunion.
Then I started feeling sick to my stomach. I thought maybe it was heartburn.
So I took an antacid, but it didn't help.
And it felt different from heartburn I'd had before.
I just wanted to get through the party and go lie down.
I didn't want to bother anyone. But I knew something wasn't right."
[Mike] "I saw them talking ... and asked what was going on.
Frank said Joan wasn't feeling so hot, and he was trying to get her to go to the doctor.
That seemed a little extreme, but she didn't look well."
[Frank] "I did a search on my phone ... and showed it to them.
I realized she could be having a heart attack."
[Joan] "To me ... a heart attack was more extreme ... like you see in the movies ...
someone falling down, clutching their chest.
But it was starting to dawn on me that something could be really wrong."
[Frank] "I felt we were running out of time.
And even if it wasn't her heart, I couldn't take that chance.
So what if I was being paranoid. I couldn't let something bad happen to her."
[Mike] "Absolutely. I told her we should just go."
[Joan] "When we got to the hospital, I was completely shocked when the doctor said I was having a heart attack.
I'm just so thankful they pushed me.
It seems funny now ... that I was worried about missing the reunion."
[Mike] "Yeah ... I've been telling my friends what happened to Joan ...
And how important it is to call 911 if someone has symptoms of a heart attack."
[Joan] "Right ... call 911."
[Frank] "Hey ... maybe now she'll listen to her brother more often."
