Sleep apnea screening

In adults, certain physical features or body types can make a person more likely to have sleep apnea. Those with a small lower jaw often have a smaller air passage at the back of the throat which can decrease airflow during sleep.

Also, those with a prominent overbite, obesity, significant weight gain in recent years, a short, large neck, nasal breathing obstruction and/or very crowded teeth often have a similar air passage in the back of the throat.

If you suspect sleep apnea, answer the five simple screening questions below. Based on the results of the screening questions, you might have sleep apnea. If that is the case, you can call and make an appointment directly with Wisconsin Sleep at (608) 232-3333.
